My everyday eye makeup looks fairly simple because I'm more of a skin girl. I'll spend ages doing the base and then usually stick to minimum products on my eyes on most days when I'm in a hurry.
Ocassionally I'll spend a little bit more time doing a proper eyeshadow look but either way, I'll never leave my house without three products - a Kohl liner, a matte liquid eyeliner and mascara.
Bookmarks for Crappy Days #4

With summer in full swing already and the humidity levels rising, I was on the hunt for a new contour powder and I spotted these cute little kits and had to pick them up. To be honest, I only picked up the contour kit first but I loved it so much that I went back and got the finishing kit too a week later!
Shelf Life : 12M
Quantity : 20G
It's rare for me to even touch the products before I've taken pictures of them for the blog but in this case I couldn't resist, I've already used the contour and setting powder and lightly used the highlighters just so that I don't mess up the beautiful patterns. I must say I am impressed.
The packaging is probably what drew me to them first. They come in gorgeous gold and silver compacts and I believe they have a strobing kit as well which comes in rose gold but couldn't get my hands on that one. They look really cute on my vanity. Each one comes with two layers with two different powders - one matte and one shimmer.
I must point out that the contour kit packaging is a little defective because the lock on it isn't very tight, it opens up pretty easily with a nudge. I guess I received a defective piece because the finshing kit locks up perfectly and is sturdy.

They've had the contour kit for a while now but only just added the finishing kit so maybe they've improved the packaging and made it sturdier. It's mostly just mine because I haven't heard of anyone else talking about this issue.
I'm one of those people who falls in love with a show and its fashion. Of course, what makes a show great is it's story and the characters but I can't deny that I'm attracted to shows with some outfits I can appreciate. Even if I don't go into watching a series with fashion in mind, when I fall in love with a character, I often fall for her style too.
Maybe it all started with Gossip Girl, then there was Pretty Little Liars and the list has grown far longer than I ever imagined. So let's talk about three Netflix shows I recently binged because they were impossible to stop watching.
I have three favourite shows that I will label as 100% binge-worthy but what's more cool is all of them have really interesting female leads which I've only just noticed. They are based on three very different women but powerful in their own ways I guess.
#1 13 Reasons Why
Does this show need an introduction anymore? I think not! It's everywhere and it has received so much appreciation. All of it is so well deserved because of the way this show struck a chord with so many teenagers and adults alike.
It's crazy how many people could identify with Hannah after watching it, how many people have felt like her and survived. The show ultimately makes you reconsider how you treat people because everyone's going through something that we don't know about.
Well, our lead girl Hannah is my first subject of some fashion inspo because she does the slightly edgy and not overly girly high school girl look so well. To be honest, her look would work on anyone who's willing to be bold and can carry it off.

The Affordable Brow-down!
May 7, 2017 • beauty, collections, makeup
I'm really into doing my brows at the moment and it is a borderline obsession. I probably get it from my mom, who has never been too much into makeup but would never forget brows even when I was growing up. She loves a good, dark brow and so do I. If there's one thing I won't leave the house without these days, it's them brows! That is the only way I can justify trying so many brow products at once and always being on the prowl for that perfect brow product that does it all. Until then I do need more than one or two products to do my brows, and here's a rundown of my absolute favourites from the drugstores.
#1 Freedom Makeup Duo Eyebrow Powder in Dark Brown
Shelf Life : 12 M
This is a pretty obvious dupe for Anastasia's brow duo if you're just looking at the packaging and the shade range too. I haven't tried the Anastasia powder but this one is seriously amazing! It is my most reached for product when I'm doing my brows for an everyday look. As you can tell from the slight dent in the lighter "taupe" shade, that's the one I essentially reach for and use the darker shade for filling in sparse areas. The colours are super soft and subtle and definitely gives me that natural yet put together eyebrow look. I use a dual ended eyebrow brush with this product - the flat angled brush side for shading and the spoolie end for blending.
Korean Beauty : Fresh Jeju Lotus Soothing Gel by The Face Shop
May 4, 2017 • beauty, beauty around the world, korean beauty
So let's talk about this face gel/moisturiser/aftersun mask (?)That's the thing about korean beauty products. A lot of them do more than one thing. They're big on multitasking and that's one of the reasons I was really intrigued about such products. You never know what they'll do for your skin until you try them and the results are usually quite interesting.
Quantity : 285 ml
Shelf Life : 12M
What it claims : Fresh Lotus Gel is made up of clear, glass like beads that contain Lotus Flower Extract from Jeju Island. This multipurpose gel protects against harmful environment aggressors , soothes tired skin and can be used daily or after sun exposure.
Free from: Parabens, Tar colorant, Mineral Oil, Talc & Paraffin.
Price : Around $10 but it can go up to $20 depends on where you're buying it from.
The first thing I did is google Jeju island because I am a beauty nerd like that. Jeju Island is also known as the 'Island of the Gods' and is well known for it's volcanoes and tropical beaches. I've seen a lot of volcanic beauty products from this range too and now it all makes sense. Probably next up on my list!
A social media sabbatical
May 2, 2017 • A social media break, lifestyle, personal
After almost two months into a
social media detox, I think I’ve finally reached a point where I can look back
and report on how this thing’s been working out. If you didn’t know, I decided
to take a little break from my blog + social media on the 3rd of
March, 2017. I won’t go into the reasons why I decided upon this but I will say
I had a lot going on in my life at the time with very little free time to
myself. In those hours of peace, I wanted to be by myself, do things that can
help me wind down instead of taking up more pressure than I could handle.
I’m not the one to fake post about how great my life is when it isn’t and nor did I want to be that whiny person complaining everyday – so I thought this would be the best bet. It was a spontaneous decision and one that I will stand by because it has helped me gain some perspective on my blog and how I want to proceed with it.
