If you've seen my post about Born Pretty Store a week or so ago, you'd know that I reviewed their brush set and I really loved them. So, I decided to delve into some makeup from them. I love that they always have so many unique items to choose from that you've probably never seen before. I came across this 'Mixiu Powder Blush*' in Shade #2.
I was drawn to it's Pinkness(of course) and the pattern looked pretty as well. This blush retails for a modest $3.99 and that being said, I do like drugstore products a lot and I believe cheaper items can work out brilliantly(Think Rimmel Stay Matte Powder). I chose this pinky shade, over the coral one because I thought it would work well as a everyday cheek colour. I was quite impressed with the packaging when I first opened it. It is shiny, good quality for the price and had a nice big mirror in it(full points for that).

There are two pretty shades in it, a pastel pink in the outer ring and a brighter pink in the centre. They make a really nice medium pink when blended together. When I swirled my blush brush in it once, there was quite a bit of fall out as you can see in the image below and I was a bit disappointed with that. The shades were pretty pigmented when swatched but they applied a little patchy. I don't know if it's because my skin is quite dry at the moment because of the weather, but it does tend to cling to drier parts of my face and ended up looking not so impressive. I think I will save this one for summer and do probably do an update on how that goes. Would I indulge in more asian makeup? Hell yes! I already have a list of products that I want to try out. Hopefully you'll see more of those on the blog. (You can use my coupon code MTH10 for a 10% off all products on the site so that you can try out some stuff for yourself)

DeleteThe perfect pretty-pastel blend! Sorry to hear it was a little patchy at first, I find sometimes applying a little liquid highlighter underneath can help with that :)

DeleteLike you, I would also be drawn to this blush for its color and pretty design! Is it an asian brand? I've tried several Japanese brands I loved, but where's this one from?

DeleteThis is such a pretty colour and the way it is presented makes it look a lot more expensive! It's a shame that it's a little patchy. Fingers crossed you get some use out of it in Summer

I agree the design and packaging looked quite expensive. I wouldn't have guessed it to be only $4 if I didn't know. x
DeleteHey girl, sorry I couldn't find your real name. Haha anyways, Thank you so much for dropping by my blog. For you have said that you're trying to lose weight but it's difficult for you to balance your uni life you won't be able to juggle into fitness. It's okay. Firstly, you already look great just the way you are. But if you really want to change and get fitter I'd suggest you to monitor what you eat. Try staying away from junk and processed food whereas try eating more fresh stuff like vegetables and fruits. Then maybe cut down on your intake on rice and bread. I eat a lot of meat to keep myself fuller. I do crave for carbs pretty often but instead of having them I'll stuff my self with fruits or nuts. Anyhow, you have a great blog and I'll follow you on GFC on Insta to keep in touch. Good Luck girl! xxx

Hey there!
DeleteThank you for checking out my blog and this sweet comment. Your tips seem like really helpful ones since you've tried them out yourself and I can see that they worked out so well for you. I've already cut out most of the rice that I used to eat and I'm trying to eat more meat as well. I should keep some fruits and nuts with me to keep me full when I get hungry during the day x I am following you back on GFC. Thanks again for stopping by xx
How pretty, I love Asian skincare and make-up, it's a shame about the fall out although I am mostly used to that with the products I use haha! I agree it's a lovely Summer blush xxx
