Artis Foundation Brush Dupe Review

Artis Foundation Oval brush dupe review
I've been waiting for this particular parcel to arrive for a long time now. As it goes with ebay and buying from a seller in Hong Kong, it took a good few weeks to come. But now that it's finally here I am so excited to review this oval brush which is a dupe for the famous artis brushes that have taken the makeup community by a storm at the moment. However, for college students like me spending over a hundred dollars on a makeup brush is simply not an option. So I decided I'd test out this all synthetic dupe which only cost me $5!
One of the main reasons these brushes have been the talk of the town is they apply foundation/ any makeup in under a minute and blends away faster than any normal makeup brush would. I found that to be true with it's dupe as well. The shape of the handle makes it really easy to hold and the domed shape helps with quick application. All I had to do it dot my foundation all over my face, used the brush in sweeping motions and viola, it was all blended in seconds. I am quite impressed with this dupe and I think it worked so well for me. I also wiped the brush off on a wet wipe after applying my makeup, and hardly anything came off on the tissue which proves that it doesn't soak up your foundation(as sponges and beauty blenders can do)
One thing I will say about this is that I did expect the brush to be a lot bigger from the picture but what I got looks identical to the "blush brush" from the Artis brush set and not the foundation. However, I found this smaller size worked perfectly for my face and the smaller size actually helped reach corners and blend evenly(under the eyes, around the nose). You can definitely find the listing for the bigger sized ones or the whole set too if you'd like. Just read the descriptions and sizes well instead of relying on the pictures!

  7. I'm very skeptical about those oval brushes! I'm not a makeup pro so I'm gonna stick to norma brushes and beauty blenders for now. Thanks for sharing the dupe though, if I ever decide to switch I might try this one first!

  9. I need to try out this dupe, it sounds amazing. The Artis ones are just so expensive, I could never justify that price! I love the shape of the brush and everything about it sounds like it makes your makeup apply super easy. Definitely going to purchase a dupe!

I've definitely been hearing a lot of buzz about these kinds of brushes, but I never really knew why they were so popular, so I appreciate you sharing why! It sounds really great, especially for a dupe, I'll have to look into it. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great week!

  11. Glad you liked this! I've seen everyone recommend those artis brushes lately, and seen a few MAC dupes, but nothing really affordable yet. This one actually looks really nice, considering the price.

  26. I tried this and I was impressed with how well it worked except for the fact that it absorbed quite a bit of product which the Artis one supposedly doesn't do! This dupe is amazing for the price though :)

    1. I can imagine the original Artis one must be a hundred times better. I found this one to do a decent job as well. I think it also depends on what kind of foundation you use. I used a light coverage and runny foundation and it worked very well with no soaking.
