Rainy Day Beauty Essentials 2016
If you're wondering why I haven't put up a fashion post in a while, it's because it has been absolutely pouring everyday for the past week or two.I hope it gets a little sunny in the weekend when I actually have the time to go out and shoot. I love rainy days and all the good things that go with it like books, a cup of tea and a cozy blanket. However, it can be quite annoying and inconvenient when it comes to actually making your makeup look good on such days for more than thirty minutes in the morning when you've just put it on. I've put together this post of my favourite makeup items for rainy days.
The L.A Girl Pro HD Pressed Powder is a new addition to my stash and it also has a post coming up on it very soon on the blog. It's a new release from La Girl cosmetics and I love this matte, oil free formula for setting my makeup and keeping me shine free for long hours of the day with minimum touch up. I do get very oily on rainy days when the humidity rises uncontrollably. Clean and Clear Oil Control Sheets is a holy grail product when it comes to people with oily skin and it's no different for me. I love using this before setting my face with the HD powder to remove any excess oil and dirt. I've seen a lot of high end versions of these oil absorbing sheets and this one does it's job just as well. Lips! Finding a good lipstick that stays on has become a little bit easier in the past year or so, thanks to the sudden rise of the liquid lipsticks. This one is called Ultra Velour Lip Cream by Makeup Revolution in the shade 'Can't we just make love instead' which is the perfect nudey pink/peach, everyday shade and stays on through meals and pouring rain too.

I wear a lot of black eye makeup on a day to day basis. I'm the kind of person who goes all out with black winged liner and mascara or too less with no makeup and my glasses on. When I do put in more effort my favourite mascara is the Maybelline Falsies in waterproof as I'm a big fan of it's brush and the volume that it gives my not-so-thick-eyelashes. Maybelline's gel eyeliner in black is also an old favourite and an eyeliner that I re-purchase all the time since 4-5 years when it first came out. I really like the look of thick liner and the precision that comes with using a brush. Also, it can make it through 11-12 hour days without budging even on rainy days and has a waterproof formula as well.
Some products that are possibly my favourites from this list are these little, perfume sample wipes! The ones I have are called Evidence by Yves Rocher and a lot of perfume stores will give them to you if you ask them or they sometimes come with magazines and I think it's a very nifty way of freshening up your perfume by rubbing it on your wrist, neck etc after you've just been caught in the rain. It is a great staple(on hot, sunny days even). If you're like me and love carrying around the tiniest satchels/clutches, you'll know the pain of fitting a perfume into them. These wipes perfectly solve that problem and I keep stocking them in a box. Last but not the least, I couldn't make this post without mentioning my favourite hair serum for a while now by Ogx called 'Brazilian Keratin therapy' because it has been a huge saviour for keeping the frizz off my extra fine, straight hair. If it wasn't for this product, I would be 'Barbados Monica' on the daily especially on rainy mornings.

That wraps up this little beauty post all about rainy day makeup & beauty products that I think are a great idea to keep in your handbag. I hope you enjoyed reading this.
