Long time no see but I’m back this time with a lot of exciting things coming up in the next few weeks. Well, I’ve been squealing like a child just thinking about them so that’s something!

I’ve done a mini ‘boho-chic’ haul that thought I’d share with you today. I recently discovered this
website called ‘To save’ that sell everything at factory prices + Free Shipping and I thought I’d check it out and got a few things to
try out. They also have a website for hair extensions called – Sheinhair. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest because
I haven’t read any other reviews of this website yet. However, I picked up
three things – A double – buckle belt, a maxi dress and a set of rings. Their
interface is really nice and easy to browse through. They’ve got a bit of everything you could ever
want but I naturally gravitated towards the fashion & accessories section so didn't really check out the other categories much. It reminds me of Aliexpress a little because of the amazing deals they
have going on. I was blown away by their rings section, there are so many cool ones
at amazing prices. When I’m going for
a trendy look, I do love a bargain.

The package took around 3 weeks to reach me and I think that’s standard shipping time for these
trendy accessories websites coming through China Post. I was so
impressed with the items. The belt looks exactly
like the one I saw in Forever21 but half the price. I was going to buy it from
Forever21 anyway but if I can get it in half price, I thought why not give it a
go? It’s a very trendy belt, so it’s not something I wear everyday. It’s not an investment piece for me. I’ll wear it only when the outfit
demands it and I’ve had one before that lasted quite a long time so I’m glad I
could get another one for this year. The rings are gorgeous as well, with beautiful details and the finish looks very nicely made. Lastly, I picked up a boho maxi dress because I thought it
would look great with the belt and I took a leap of faith with this one because
I knew I wouldn't be able to wear it if the material didn't turn out to be hot weather appropriate.

It feels like a cotton blend, really soft and thin material. No polyester! I got it in my normal size and the fit was great so I was actually really pleased with that. It comes in 3/4 colours and I did fall in love with the teal version at first but I got this instead. I wore it
out and about the other day and I felt extremely comfortable. A good
tip would be to see if the material is listed and I usually pick up ones that
are cotton or a blend. I’ve been able to get good pieces in the past from
sheinside and stuff with this trick. I like that it’s very easy-breezy, has
three quarter sleeves and a slit down the middle, just past my thigh. The button down detail also adds a nice touch. It's definitely very flowy around the waist, so the belt is a good addition to it. All these three together make the perfect
summer or festival look! I look forward
to wearing it to a concert in the future but it’s good enough for a day out in
the sun too.

I'm one of those people who falls in love with a show and its fashion. Of course, what makes a show great is it's story and the characters but I can't deny that I'm attracted to shows with some outfits I can appreciate. Even if I don't go into watching a series with fashion in mind, when I fall in love with a character, I often fall for her style too.
Maybe it all started with Gossip Girl, then there was Pretty Little Liars and the list has grown far longer than I ever imagined. So let's talk about three Netflix shows I recently binged because they were impossible to stop watching.
I have three favourite shows that I will label as 100% binge-worthy but what's more cool is all of them have really interesting female leads which I've only just noticed. They are based on three very different women but powerful in their own ways I guess.
#1 13 Reasons Why
Does this show need an introduction anymore? I think not! It's everywhere and it has received so much appreciation. All of it is so well deserved because of the way this show struck a chord with so many teenagers and adults alike.
It's crazy how many people could identify with Hannah after watching it, how many people have felt like her and survived. The show ultimately makes you reconsider how you treat people because everyone's going through something that we don't know about.
Well, our lead girl Hannah is my first subject of some fashion inspo because she does the slightly edgy and not overly girly high school girl look so well. To be honest, her look would work on anyone who's willing to be bold and can carry it off.
I've kept her look fairly inexpensive and perfect for someone on a student budget.

Lace tunic & the perfect red lipstick

Does this lace top look familiar to you? If not, I've got a story to tell. This design is originally a white lace top & a dress version made by the designer Self-Portrait. I was kindly sent this top for consideration but I had no clue about it being such a close dupe of a much more expensive piece before I randomly spotted it on a famous blogger on instagram when I was sitting and writing this post (how ironic). I clicked on the picture and thought she was wearing the same top as mine before I realized it was SP and such a shocker because mine looks pretty much identical. Then as I researched more I found a few of my favourite bloggers had worn it before like Gal Meets Glam and The dash of darling.
The Yellow Coat & Leopard Flats

It's been a hot minute since I've bought anything Leopard print but this time of the year and the obsession with loafers at the moment inspired me to get on the bandwagon with these. I chose the espadrille style ones so that they will be wearable in summer as well! Then I found a great item to pair them with - The yellow longline duster coat in the style of Victoria Beckham. She really is my inspiration when it comes to styling anything "yellow" because she nails it every time. This yellow coat is surprisingly really not very warm so it was perfect for me as it hasn't really got cold where I live. . It's more of a statement piece than a heavy duty coat but the price is perfect for a trendy item purchase. It has the classic details of a duster coat with two pockets on either side, a waist tie belt and some silver hardware detailing on the lapels. I would most probably be styling this one with pins the next time I wear it.

Have you ever looked at an outfit online/on the mannequin and thought damn, that looks good ? After you actually try it on, it never ends up looking just as good. I'm sure it has happened to you at some point and happens to me on the regular. Every store is full of 90s trends that I love and adore but I am a little skeptical if they'd look just as good on me. Like a metallic slip dress on a tshirt with some knee high boots..I have been lusting after that look for a while now only to realize even if I ever bought it, it would never see the light of day. So here's how I tackled being trendy but still keeping it wearable so that it confirms to my personal style.
I knew I had to get this slip top from Dorothy Perkins the minute I spotted it because my life's mantra is "Everything gingham needs to get in my closet" more often than not. I loved the fact that it is a slip top so I could finally try out the slip top on tshirt trend and the peplum was just a bonus! I paired these with some ripped jeans, replaced the knee high boots with my trusty black ballet flats and accessorized with my new favourite, mini backpack from Forever 21.
Ruffled Smock Dress

This is going to be one of my last few summer posts before I dive into the autumn-swing-of-things. What drew me to this dress is obviously the ruffles in the collar. I mean I'm pretty much ready to wear anything if it has ruffles on but it sometimes it makes an outfit a bit over the top for a standard. sweltering summer day. I think a lot of people shy away from them for that very reason. Ruffles make an outfit glamourous for sure but I like this dress for styling it the minimal way.
Ripped Denim Overalls

Denim overalls have been a thing for a while now and something I'm just as much obsessed with as anybody else right now. I never thought about trying out their more trendy/ edgy ripped versions which are also in so many stores especially because I didn't know how much wear I would get out of them. I was pleasantly surprised with these ripped overalls from Romwe* which were very inexpensive compared to so many other ones I've spotted and I really liked that it was lightweight and not too thick which would make it very uncomfortable for hot summer days like this particular one.
I think it is a great starter piece to experiment with and see if this style is for me before I invest in more expensive ones. These are way more versatile than I thought they were going to be when it comes to styling in different ways. I decided to go the feminine look with a white, lacey, mock neck top tucked into it. I can imagine how great it would look with a cropped t-shirt and sneakers too. I also found a reason to sneakily bring out little bits of burgundy (although it's far too early) - the burgundy satchel and my favourite mock-croc block heels from New Look ( last year).
I liked the straight cut of these more than the mom jeans style and the fit was nice and makes for a little edgier outfit for days when I do want to dress up a little more and have an alternative to plain jeans. What's your favourite type of overall? Skinny, Ripped, Mom cut or Flares?
Monochrome Hearts

The thing about pencil skirts is they're so versatile, have the perfect fit and can be worn all year round. However, they have been stuck in the 'work wear appropriate' stereotype for as long as I can remember. There are ladies on screen who have pulled off the work look so well and have given us major envy too (think Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock). They do make for a demure work outfit but there's something about wearing a pencil skirt casually, with a fun print or a slouchy tshirt and you can still make it work. Mine is a tad more toned down than some crazy prints that I see. This one's simple with black hearts on a white skirt and has a contrasting black waist band which really makes me look slimmer. Paired with this cropped blue tshirt (that I also styled with my Gingham Midi Skirt last month) really gives it the pop of colour it needs. My Topshop Freya Shoes tie up the casual theme pretty well and I love how comfortable they are to walk in, even in the middle of the day when the sun's out in it's full glory. It's a shame I don't own a lot of pencil skirts but I'm on it ..come autumn/winter!
Also, this is slightly off topic but as I was sitting here editing this post, I watched Zoella's new range video and I'm so excited that its coming out only days before my birthday. I don't really buy her products religiously so I have nothing to compare to but this range seems to be really exciting and the prettiest so far.
Scalloped Collar and Cropped Pants

I'm dressed head to toe in one of my favourite affordable clothing brands - Dorothy Perkins! This is an outfit that's leaning towards early autumn and I am very excited about the new collections to arrive. The weather has been quite rainy here (don't let the occasional sunshine fool you) and very windy but I was able to utilize the occasional sunny afternoon for this post. This beige jumper is a nice, light knitted top and nowhere as warm as a normal jumper but still means I can be cozy when the weather is acting up around here. What I love about it is it comes with an attached scalloped collar and it's not an entire double layer of shirt underneath which still makes it appropriate for August.
Crisp White Shirts and Bumblebees

If you've noticed the lack of fashion posts on the blog, it's because the weather has been horrible for the past couple of weeks but things are finally looking up and I was able to go out, take some pictures and only got rained on "once". Now that's what I call a successful day.
This is clearly a crisp white button down and bumblebee print(out of frame) appreciation post. If you've already got the hint about what on earth is going on here then I'm glad but in case you are still confused, this is an outfit post inspired by Louisa Clarke from Me Before You(played by Emilia Clarke). Yes, I've been talking about it everywhere ever since I saw the film - real life, social media and also mentioned it in my Spring favourites.
The Blue Gingham Midi Skirt

Summer is upon us and I have been preparing myelf to deal with these warm summer afternoons for a while now. What says summer more than a loose flowy skirt that is so easy breezy to walk around in without feeling uncomfortable? It makes it a tad bit better if it's in Gingham and has little buttons going down the front and two slightly big pockets for convenience. This one is so easy to throw on and while I it goes with pretty much any tshirt/top, I chose this Blue one which has a slightly perforated texture all over it. With my much loved Forever 21 black box bag and TopShop Freya flats, it came together pretty easily.
Now finding the perfect Gingham skirt for you isn't only restricted to a certain store, you can find one in every price range and in several trendy shops that keep releasing them over time as it's a returning trend on the runways. Another great place to find a good one is vintage shops, because there you can find so many cuts, lengths, and materials to experiment with. A lot of modern brands inspired by vintage fashion also do a great job at this. The options are endless. This particular one lacks the flare that I usually adore in midi skirts but the material is the softest cotton which makes up for the lack of flare which is usually in pieces made from "scuba" material, like I like to describe them. Trendy or not, this print remains a regular in my wardrobe every year.
The White, The Black and The Brown

A white pussybow shirt like this with skinny cropped trousers might sound very "formal" to some. I have to agree, it does end up being a pretty, classic, minimal work wear but it is also totally capable turning into a little more relaxed, casual, walking around the city kind. Styling three of my most worn neutral colours into one outfit and still not end up looking like a mess was a challenge. I had all of these items lying on my bed after a few days of collective shopping before I organized them and viola I thought they might work as a nice outfit.
I've got my favourite pussybow blouse from Forever 21 on and it's untucked to keep the casual feel that I was going for. I paired it with my favourite cropped trousers from Dorothy Perkins, that fit like a glove and the length is just right. Anything shorter than this tends to look chunky on my body type anyway. I decided to ditch the heels/pumps and go for brown sandals with pretty delicate embroidery on it. These would be fabulous with summer dresses as well. And the final and the most exciting piece of course is the tasseled handbag from New Look. The size is really good for a crossbody bag and the fact that I was carrying around a ton of stuff in it(including a large hair brush) says something. It's got some perfect 'Chloe Faye Bag' accents going on for it with the gold ring and chain and the tassel is an extra touch.
Plaid Shirt Days

The title of this post might give away that I am no closeted swiftie and I do agree with her love for plaid. Maybe we will see a return of it now that she is going a little "Jenny Humphrey". I will admit that I've been binge watching a lot of gossip girl lately which may have inspired this a little. Anyway, It's something I love and even if it's not fall/autumn. I never limit it to a particular season as long as it is wearable. I found this red graphic tshirt while thrifting one day and I immediately thought it would go so well with a plaid shirt over it, a classic!
A good tee-shirt tucked into my high waisted jeggings kind of day was fast approaching and I decided to wear this one out. It was a bit of good luck to find a plaid that matched so well with my tshirt. Paired with some suede ballet flats, this made for a perfect outfit. If you're looking for some easy to layer pieces, you can't go wrong with a plaid shirt because it absolutely goes with any tshirt or shirt that you'd be thinking of pairing it with and adds a bit of jazz to a very basic outfit. This is a print I will keep coming back to!
Checked Shirt Dress & Neckerchief

I am always in favour of trends that don't really break the bank and the "neckerchief" trend is no exception to that. Apart from being really cute, it is so easily available in so many stores. Topshop does some really good ones and in every colour and material too! Mine is the "western inspired" paisley pattern and I chose "black" because I own majority of my accessories in that colour(It is a lifestyle). And what better to pair it with than a classic checkered shirt dress. I am kind of fond of the print how it can be mistaken for a masculine print, however I think it looks great in a feminine cut dress like this one. With my quilted bucket bag and my favourite pair of summer shoes at the moment, the Freya shoes from Topshop, this made for a great casual day outfit. While lace up shoes are all the rage in the summer, I had a pair and I found that they get ruined or come undone quite easily when you have a great deal of walking to do. This Freya Pair is quite like lace up except with the buckles, it's way more sturdy and can make through long days like this one.
