Christmas Tree Iced Biscuits
December 23, 2016 • iced biscuits, lifestyle, recipe
I've spent most of the day baking these christmas tree biscuits and icing around 30 of them and it was the most productive day ever. I've also managed to make these, photograph and write up this post all in one day. Maybe it's because I am fully in the christmas spirit and these biscuits really turned out to be delicious so I was excited to share these with you.
Biscuits are probably one of the easiest things to bake but extremely difficult to ice. I feel like I've done much better this time but one thing I always get right is the taste. Especially when the recipe is so classic and a no brainer. These make perfect little favours for someone or to indulge in over the weekend!
The Recipe:
100g of Unsalted Butter
100g of Sugar (Castor/plain)
250g of Flour
2-3 drops of Vanilla Flavouring.
1 Egg
Yep, that's it! Mix the dry and wet ingredients separately and combine them slowly in small portions until it makes a nice dough. Roll out the dough and cut your Christmas tree shapes. Use a cookie cutter or a knife works fine too but it's a little bit more time consuming if you want make a lot of them. Here's a super affordable cookie cutter set for all your festive cookie needs! Preheat the oven to 160 degree Celsius and bake for about 10-15 minutes.

What's in my mini backpack?
December 11, 2016 • collections, lifestyle, whats in my mini backpack?
I'm back again and I'm dedicating one entire post to my love for small/ mini bags and more importantly showing you how much stuff this can actually fit. I know it looks unbelievable right? I thought so too until I have converted to mini styles and always try to pack in the most essentials instead of carrying 2 large books and a bunch of other stuff I would never need anyway. My mini backpack is from Forever21 and I love it because it's a classic black with gold hardware that goes with my entire wardrobe and pretty much any outfit as you can see in my previous posts - Ruffled Smock Dress & How to be trendy and still keep it personal. I get quite excited about knowing what others carry in their bags, so here's a peek into mine.
A few of my favourites in stores right now!
The Absolute Essentials:
My top 3 essential things that me( & I'm sure everyone else) likes to have with them is my phone, my card holder/wallet and my key-pompom. I like to bring this sparkly card holder from Colette for the festive season. Although it's teeny-tiny, its perfect for 3-4 important cards and that's all I really need. The pom pom keychain goes on my backpack more than on my keys but I carry it with me and put it on and off as and when the outfit demands.
For the Eyes:
I have pretty bad vision so I need to wear glasses all the time and I love this minimal looking frame that I wear pretty much everyday. However, when I'm wearing contact lenses, I have to carry my solution and case with me. If my eyes get dry especially when it's windy or after a long day. it gets mega uncomfortable and sometimes I like to take them off before a long journey home or in the car and re-wet them before I wear them again.
L'oreal Color Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polish Review
December 3, 2016 • beauty, L'oreal Color Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polish, makeup, review, rose ballet, vert absynthe
I'm talking about these new Nail polishes from L'oreal called Color Riche Le Vernis A L'Huile Nail Polishes today! I was initially attracted to these because of the bottles, let's face it they're super cute and so unique compared to anything in the drugstore ranges right now or even compared to anything I've seen from L'oreal lately. It was exciting and I wanted to buy a few, test them out & see how they perform!
Claims: Infused with 4 precious oils, the 1st oil nail polish by L'Oréal Paris delivers rich, powerful colour and incomparable mirror shine.
I was really intrigued by the claim and immediately researched what these oils are and if they're supposed to be actually good for the nails - like growth and health. I found that it is infused with 4 oils - rose, camellia seed, lotus flower and argan but no possible information was found if they were really good for the nails. On the website its only mentioned that the oils help with long lasting shine and rich colour. Also, the ingredients list is super long so I don't know how effective the oils are really going to be.
Five scenes in the Gilmore Girls Revival that made me cry
November 29, 2016 • gilmore girls a year in the life, gilmore girls netflix revival, lifestyle
I wasn’t going to post this initially because I’ve already eaten
everybody’s ears off on social media + real life about the Gilmore Girls
Revival but I just sat down to write this because I needed to. I needed to put
my thoughts somewhere whether I post it on the blog or no for some closure because the ending left me in two minds. I
had promised to do this post in my previous post about rewatching Gilmore Girls a couple of months ago. I thought I’d just put it out there for anybody who wants
to read it. If you haven’t watched the
original series and wondering what the hell this hype is about then go get on the bandwagon and you won't regret it.
This series is set a couple of years later and Rory is now
32. Lorelai and Luke have been in a relationship for 9 years. Stars Hollow is
still the same though with all it’s glorious people and funny quirks. It was so
good to be back in that town. Let's talk about the moments that made me bawl like a baby or at least made me tear up. Amy Sherman Palladino knows how to hit all the nostalgia spots which you didn't even know existed. I’m
going to do a reverse countdown from the least to the most emotional scene in
the revival.
5. Rory and Dean’s little meeting at the supermarket. It was
a cute little banter between them, catching up on their lives. I love that it was in the place where they first met all those years ago ( Sounds like a Taylor Swift lyric). It’s so nice
to know that he is happy, has a family and has since moved on. I was Team Dean
after all for a long time and I always believed he was an amazing guy, especially to Rory and he deserves all the good things! Also,
Jared Padalecki ..enough said. Dean Forester has had the best transformation from the show to the revival (Jess was already hot to begin with!)
4. Sookie and Lorelai’s scene where she bakes a
million different cakes for her wedding and shes's as hyper as always. It was just like the old times. Michel comes in and talks about how
sad Lorelai’s been since she left and she tears up a little. Her
appearance was too short compared to the real show, where she was always around
in times of every crisis in Lorelai’s life. I had expected her to be the first
one Lorelai tells about her and Luke having a baby and stuff. I wish she was around more, dropping in every other day with baked goods. That would have been about right. I’m glad they are
still best friends though!
Avène Cleanance Hydra Soothing Cream Review
November 25, 2016 • beauty, review, Skincare
I bought this soothing cream a few weeks ago with my
cleanance gel and I did a little review of the cleanance range.
What it says: Restores skin comfort. For skin left dry and
irritated by medical treatments.
Aimed at: Oily, blemish prone skin as is the rest of the
cleanance range.
Quantity: 40ml
Now I’ve got the important specs
aside, I want to get into the details. This soothing cream comes in a 40ml tube
and is enriched with avene thermal spring water which is also in every product of the cleanance range. When I first got this I opened it and squeezed a
little bit out the first evening after washing my face and a clear serum like
liquid came out of the tube. It got me really confused because the box read
“cream” so that’s what I was expecting on contrary to a gel/serum. I
immediately thought there might be some mistake.
I squeezed it a good 3-4 times
and a clear serum is all that came out of the tube. I put it on my face just to
test it and it did feel very rich and moisturizing and didn’t smell bad so I
was confused what went wrong with it. Instantly I started panicking wondering
if I had got a really bad batch and I’ve ruined my skin by putting on cream
that has gone bad. It was a natural reaction to put it on because I had
squeezed a fair bit of it and it didn’t feel right to waste it because this
stuff is expensive for only 40ml.
Bookmarks for Crappy Days #3
November 18, 2016 • advice, bookmarks for crappy days, cheer me up, lifestyle, motivation
I have quite taken to writing this series on
the blog because I find it so much fun to write and I hope you have fun
checking out what I have discovered for you. It's been a while since I did one of these because I had to tackle examinations this month. That means pulling all nighters,
being tired and grumpy. Here’s what inspired me on the internet and really helped me get
through it. (I've also revamped the graphic a little, what do you think?)
1.Neon Signs – Tumblr
This amazing page on tumblr is something I found on accident
and what a fair bit of luck that was. This is a tumblr curated by an
anonymous(couldn’t find any contact information or media) fellow neon sign
enthusiast who posts bloody awesome neon signs from all over the world. It is
the perfect collection of aesthetically pleasing moody/dark images with
fun/bright quotes. They’re pretty to look at and have some great words(if
you’re a lover of words too you’ll know how I feel). The fun thing is sometimes
I search for a particular one that I liked and it leads me to learn about a
totally new restaurant or place I never knew existed and there goes another
name on my bucket list. Honestly, it’s just a pretty place to scroll through on
sleepless nights or anytime really and I think it’s quite inspiring and makes
me feel festive.
2.Papertown_papercut – Instagram
Bailu is a gorgeous artist from Australia who makes magnificent
works of art from paper and you won’t even believe your eyes when you see it
because it’s all handmade. She puts up a lot of videos of her work as well if
you want to know more about papercutting or how it’s done. It’s a complete work
of art and patience. How she carves out delicate patterns and details by hand
with a cutter (that you, me or any “human” uses to open boxes) is beyond me. I
believe she also has an etsy shop where she sells these designs and they’re so
pretty I feel she deserves all the attention and more. So go give her page a
look and be prepared to be in awe. Here's a link to her etsy shop !
Lace tunic & the perfect red lipstick

| White Lace Top - c/o Rosegal, Blue Skinny Jeans - Forever 21, Red Kitten Heels : Old, Similar HERE & HERE, Brown Sling Bag : New Look, Alternative HERE & HERE, The Perfect Red Lipstick - NYX (review HERE) |
Does this lace top look familiar to you? If not, I've got a story to tell. This design is originally a white lace top & a dress version made by the designer Self-Portrait. I was kindly sent this top for consideration but I had no clue about it being such a close dupe of a much more expensive piece before I randomly spotted it on a famous blogger on instagram when I was sitting and writing this post (how ironic). I clicked on the picture and thought she was wearing the same top as mine before I realized it was SP and such a shocker because mine looks pretty much identical. Then as I researched more I found a few of my favourite bloggers had worn it before like Gal Meets Glam and The dash of darling.
The Avène Cleanance Range Review
November 8, 2016 • beauty, collection, Skincare
Hypoallergenic - Non Comedogenic - Cruelty Free
The weather's been changing and becoming much drier now so my skin needed some new gentle products that are moisturising as well. In summer, I'm all about using super effective products for keeping oil at bay but in winter, my skin starts craving for some moisture. So I decided to go for the Avene Cleanance Range as I heard it's good for sensitive and acne prone skin. I don't have acne all the time but products do break me out easily and almost nothing suits my skin so I tend to only go for ranges that say "sensitive" on the labels and still there is no guarantee if it's going to actually work for me. I picked up their Cleanance Gel Cleanser and Hydra Soothing Cream along with couple of other items so I was eligible for "5ml" sized samples of three other products of the same range which I think was really amazing as I could get an overall idea of how the range is and if I liked anything I could purchase the full size. All of these products have a mild scent to them. Nothing too overpowering but leaning towards "mediciny" if you know what I mean! Now onto how they work on my oily/combination skin.
1. Cleanance Gel Cleanser : I wanted to pick this up for its "soap free" claim which is very beneficial for me as any cleanser with soap dries out my cheeks pretty bad and gives me dry patches however I do need an effective oil free cleanser for my Tzone. This one works great for my skin so far. It is very gentle, lathers pretty well even though it says its soap free so I'm not sure how that works. I use the tiniest amount like 1 drop everyday. I only use it in the mornings to wash by face and remove any excess oil that has been building up all night. I think the quantity is amazing too as this giant bottle is going to last me a good while. This 100% doesn't dry my skin up and I could tell a difference from my Clean and Clear cleanser which made me feel so dry when I used to use it a couple of weeks back. It removes the dirt without stripping my skin of it's moisture.
2. Cleanance Hydra Soothing Cream : This one's designed for oily skin that has been dried out by acne medications or combination skin in general which dries out because of a lot of facewashes and lotions formulated for oily skin. I also have had dry patches from using topical acne treatments for the occasional spot once or twice a month. I have a whole different post coming up about this product (So stay tuned for that) because I had quite a funny experience with it but overall the moisturising power is good and it didn't break me out even though it's quite a rich, hydrating cream which has almost never happened before. I used to prefer keeping my skin less moisturized with matte lotions to avoid breaking out from heavier creams in winter and not properly caring for the dry parts of my skin. So this is truly a product designed for people like me. ( I've also got a detailed review and experience of the hydra soothing cream which is you should definitely read before purchasing this product)
Autumn Rose Makeup Look
November 4, 2016 • beauty, makeup
I've got a makeup look on the blog today which I've decided to call - Autumn Rose, as I play with the reddish shades from the NYX Warm Neutrals palette( that I have reviewed + swatched here) and a rosy lip and cheeks. The eyes have been created using all the colours in the third row of the NYX palette - a light gold (1) in the inner corner, bronzy shade (3) in the centre, a rust shade (4) in the outer corner and the deep burgundy (2) in the crease. This Kate Moss lipstick is what I've been wearing from the past couple of weeks because it's so creamy and moisturizing and has basically been winning against any other matte liquid lipstick because it is the only kind that my poor lips can handle at the moment. I'm not complaining, I love every lipstick from this range and this one is the perfect rosy nude. It comes out way more pink than nude on me but it's such a pretty shade that I don't mind.
What I'm wearing:
What I'm wearing:
Foundation & Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me in 128 Warm Nude & 20 Sand Sable
Brows: Freedom Makeup Duo Powder in Dark Brown
Eyes: NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals
Eyeliner: Maybelline Gel Liner
Mascara; Maybelline Lash Sensational Washable Black
Cheeks: Essence Blush in Kissable.
Contour + Bronzer : Freedom Makeup Bronze & Baked Palette
Highlight : Makeup Revolution Radiant Light - Breathe
Lipstick: Rimmel London Kate Moss #19

The Yellow Coat & Leopard Flats
October 30, 2016 • fashion
It's been a hot minute since I've bought anything Leopard print but this time of the year and the obsession with loafers at the moment inspired me to get on the bandwagon with these. I chose the espadrille style ones so that they will be wearable in summer as well! Then I found a great item to pair them with - The yellow longline duster coat in the style of Victoria Beckham. She really is my inspiration when it comes to styling anything "yellow" because she nails it every time. This yellow coat is surprisingly really not very warm so it was perfect for me as it hasn't really got cold where I live. . It's more of a statement piece than a heavy duty coat but the price is perfect for a trendy item purchase. It has the classic details of a duster coat with two pockets on either side, a waist tie belt and some silver hardware detailing on the lapels. I would most probably be styling this one with pins the next time I wear it.
How I did my makeup in High School Challenge
October 26, 2016 • beauty, collection, makeup
This tag has been doing it's rounds on youtube lately and I instantly wanted to be a part of it because I'm all about "throwback anything". However, I didn't think I could actually get hold of all the products and their original packaging so I thought I'd just share them here with you!
15-16 is when I actually started discovering makeup, watching Elle and Blair videos on Youtube and slowly getting into the swing of things. That's quite late compared to a lot of people who I know have been wearing makeup since 13-14 but I guess I wasn't that sassy ( yet!). I was in high school mainly the last two years when I started wearing a lot of makeup and basically loved waking up to do my makeup even though it meant I had to be up by 6 am because my classes started super early back then. Being a college student, I certainly prefer the extra 5 minutes of lie-in time now though.
My first foundation was the Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline and I'm actually quite surprised to know that majority of the people used this as well. It was not the best in terms of coverage or even staying power. It was a different texture and I thought since it wasn't a liquid, it would make me look more natural. I used the Maxfactor Pan Stick as a concealor for my under eyes. I strongly believed and perhaps even preached (oops) that base products with more coverage were for the under eyes so that's what I would use every single day. I've had bad under-eye circles for as long as I can remember so I think my first step into the makeup world was to learn how to cover those bad boys up. Unfortunately they always creased on me. Rimmel Stay Matte was my everyday powder and something I would actually use even without anything under it because I was always so freakin oily and this was the cheapest, most amazing powder I had discovered back then.
It's funny to know that people hadn't discovered brows back then which is totally the opposite for me. I've seen my mom do her brows for ages and ages and a brow pencil is one of the first makeup items I started using. However, I used to use a super black colour which really made me look like a mess and was too dark for me because I would use it with a very heavy hand. My favourite eyeliner was the Maybelline gel liner which I repurchased this year and it's safe to say that it was one great choice I made back then. I would apply it real thick on my upper lash line, lower lash line and waterline and it literally made my small eyes look even smaller but I loved how long it stayed. I had 12 hour days often and only my eyeliner looked decent by the end of it. I didn't use any mascara so I always looked like I didn't have any eyelashes ( Oh dear!). I was always too afraid to use mascara on my eyes. The thought scared for a long time before I became an addict.
NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette : Warm Neutrals Review + Swatches
October 22, 2016 • beauty, makeup, review
I may have let on a little sneak peek of this picture in my 'Mysteries of Instagram' post on my blog last week because I couldn't contain the excitement of adding a new autumn palette to my collection. I know this was more of a Spring/Summer release but I only just snagged the NYX Ultimate Palette in Warm Neutrals and couldn't help but notice that it has all the golds, reds and browns to make it a great autumn palette( and just every season really!). I am a huge fan of this brand and have been one ever since I tried out their jumbo eye pencils in 2011. I'm so happy to see them come out with amazing, exciting products so that I can make my collection 40% NYX . So let's get into the review!
When this palette came in the mail, I was expecting it to be much bigger as you do with any standard 16 shade palette but I was pleasantly surprised at the size. It's quite small and compact and so much easier to hold for people like me who have smashed endless amounts of makeup by dropping them. The packaging is plastic with a transparent lid so that all the shades are visible. I think it looks way more sleek when compared to the cardboard packacing which I'm not a fan of at all. The shade selection is amaaaazzzing! It has such a good variety of browns and reds and golds. It's predominantly matte which I personally prefer and a few sparkly shades like the rose gold one in the second row is really nice.
How to be trendy and still keep it personal

Hey guys!
Hey guys!
Have you ever looked at an outfit online/on the mannequin and thought damn, that looks good ? After you actually try it on, it never ends up looking just as good. I'm sure it has happened to you at some point and happens to me on the regular. Every store is full of 90s trends that I love and adore but I am a little skeptical if they'd look just as good on me. Like a metallic slip dress on a tshirt with some knee high boots..I have been lusting after that look for a while now only to realize even if I ever bought it, it would never see the light of day. So here's how I tackled being trendy but still keeping it wearable so that it confirms to my personal style.
I knew I had to get this slip top from Dorothy Perkins the minute I spotted it because my life's mantra is "Everything gingham needs to get in my closet" more often than not. I loved the fact that it is a slip top so I could finally try out the slip top on tshirt trend and the peplum was just a bonus! I paired these with some ripped jeans, replaced the knee high boots with my trusty black ballet flats and accessorized with my new favourite, mini backpack from Forever 21.
Mysteries of Instagram I'll never understand
October 7, 2016 • advice, lifestyle
There are moments on instagram almost daily that leave me
baffled. This is not a rant..oh well, maybe it is..a little bit. I have
personally experienced quite a lot of weird stuff lately and I thought I’d talk
about it more here. It has become one of the most widely used apps especially
for bloggers and since I spend a lot of time on it, I’m really started to get
annoyed with little things that go on there that I’m not sure I know “why” or
“how” they happen.
For example, there
are people who…
Like 25 of my pictures and then unfollow me.
Follow and unfollow me within an hour which is a very short
frame for me to have even got to my notifications because I’m not on instagram
24-7.
Like each and every one of my photos, everyday but not
follow me.
Constantly follow and unfollow me every day of the week.
I’ve had huge bloggers do this to me too, so it’s a bit strange to me. I also
followed back a few and they still unfollowed. (Lol)
Have thousands of followers and still get the same amount of
likes that I do while here I am constantly having mass unfollow attacks, if I may call them that.
My Birthday Resolutions
October 4, 2016 • lifestyle, personal
The prettiest birthday card from my Grandma. It's a tradition to get the cutest cards from her every year. |
I had a wonderful day yesterday! Lots of wishes from friends and family & lots of my instagram pals, good food, lots of cake and also managed to squeeze in Bridget Jones Baby into all of this which absolutely made my day. It was such a funny film and good ol' romantic comedies don't come out as much anymore. So I was so glad I could catch it before it went out of theatres. I am writing this on the 4th , one day after my birthday. I decided to sit down, write about a few things I want to achieve in the coming year.
1. I want to switch up my posting schedule a little bit from the coming month and I’m planning to post a little more frequently. Running a blog really takes up a lot of my time and I’ve been feeling inconsistent lately so I’m going to get things up and going pretty soon. I need to find a routine that’s realistic and actually works for me.
2. I’ve been on a huge health kick this year. Not the kind where I spend hours in the gym (I don’t). I have really been incorporating healthy eating habits and simple exercise and have been able to lose 10 pounds this year. My final goal is to lose 6 more pounds and then I’ll reach my goal weight. I have been attempting to do this very gradually and through healthy eating only. (no crash diets) which is why it's taking me much longer but I think it has been worth the wait so far.
3.Read more books! – Here comes the clichéd point that makes it to everyone’s resolutions list but this one’s something I’m serious about. I love reading and have been always been such an avid reader but lately I’ve found myself reading very few books. The decline from reading 4 books a month to possibly 5-6 books a year has been very drastic for me. I blame time issues for it because I have been consumed with university, running a blog and just basic life things. I feel like I need to get back into the reading habit and try reading at least one book a month to begin with.
That's all! I decided to keep these resolutions short and achievable which I think is way more motivating for next year as well. Thank you to everyone who reads my blog/comments on it and anyone who wished me on social media yesterday. I couldn't be more thankful to have people from all over the world connecting with me in a way that I could have never imagined.
Ruffled Smock Dress
September 30, 2016 • fashion
This is going to be one of my last few summer posts before I dive into the autumn-swing-of-things. What drew me to this dress is obviously the ruffles in the collar. I mean I'm pretty much ready to wear anything if it has ruffles on but it sometimes it makes an outfit a bit over the top for a standard. sweltering summer day. I think a lot of people shy away from them for that very reason. Ruffles make an outfit glamourous for sure but I like this dress for styling it the minimal way.
My Summer Favourites
September 23, 2016 • collections, lifestyle
Hey! I've got my seasonal favourites post for you today and although summer is not technically over for me and I still haven't given up on my summer clothes, but its kinda over in the fashion and beauty world. So here's a couple of things that I have been absolutely in love with this summer.
BEAUTY:
BEAUTY:
Summer usually means minimal makeup for me but when I do want to have some makeup on, I pretty much stick to my everyday face - Fit Me Foundation & Concealor and LA Girl Pro HD Powder. Something that is new to my collection is the LA Girl Pro HD Concealor which has some insane coverage for the under eyes in my opinion. I got the shade "Pure Beige" which is actually a little dark for me (online shopping and concealors don't go hand in hand do they?). I would have preferred a shade or two lighter for that bright look but I've been using it (until I get the lighter shade) under foundation and the fit me concealor brightens everything up on top. Something to keep in mind if you've got a wrong shade yourself.
Next up is my Perfect Red Lip duo, that I blogged about earliar in the month. I've fallen head over heels in love with this combination as it makes for the perfect blue based red from the drugstore. It makes my teeth look whiter and also really brightens up a makeup look. Although I usually stay minimal for summer I still like a little bit of glow and it makes all the difference. I've been reaching for my Makeup Revolution Breathe Highlighter pretty consistently and it looks like I haven't even used much. It's one of my favourite highlighters because it's not shimmery at all, just glowy and supposed to be a dupe for the Hourglass powders.
SKIN:
The Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser is what I got last minute in a mini size because I was going to be travelling the next day but it has stuck with me and become my everyday face wash for the season. It doesn't make me oily throughout the day which is very important to me for my skin and also doesn't break me out. It's perfect for taking off last bits of makeup at the end of the day which tend to stay on when you lazily removed your makeup the night before which I am guilty of sometimes.
The next most useful thing is my Gillette Venus Razor which is what I often use when I'm in a hurry (and I'm always running late). I had sworn off razors because of my sensitive skin but this completely changed my mind. I like to change out the blades every 5-8 uses so I get a close shave every time. Now it's become a staple in my collection and I have been reaching for it much more this season.
HAIR:
The Batiste mini dry shampoo in Cherry is such a staple when the weather's humid and you've got fine hair like me.I'm not gonna lie, it's a great dry shampoo but I've been using it so much as a hair perfume too because it smells divine and actually lasts a long time. So I'll sometimes spray this on as a lift me up for my hair. It doesn't leave any white flakes on my hair after brushing it out and I have quite dark hair naturally so that's a plus.
FASHION:
I have too many fashion favourites for the season so I won't be able to include every single one but I'll mention a few that I loved the most. First off, this cute blue satchel or any mini satchel has been my go-to bag to carry around. I'm trying to keep it minimal when it comes to things I carry around in my purse and that has led to quite a few mini purse purchases this season. There's also this black saddle bag from an outfit on the blog that I've really been loving. Just any tiny, cute purse is what I grab every time I go out shopping and if it's in a fun colour, it's even better. A wide brimmed hat is also such a great addition for the season. This one's black and probably not too summery but it goes with all my accessories so I couldn't justify getting a different one.
RANDOM BITS:
Now onto my favourite portion of these posts - the random things that I fall in love with almost everyday in my life and I love knowing what other people are loving as well. "All The Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven gets a spot without a doubt. I have been on the bandwagon of reading similar teen love stories ever since I put down "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell. It totally sparked up a different side of me that enjoys this genre all over again. That's probably because I was yet to discover little gems like these which are not predictable and are beautiful stories that adults can enjoy too.
The whole rewatching Gilmore Girls thing happend. I literally spent a major chunk of my summer watching it and reliving all the cool moments and it was like getting hit by a nostalgia train and I loved it.
A couple of tunes I am absolutely obsessed with - Dua Lipa's Hotter than Hell and Alex Goot's cover with some other Youtubers of "Let me Love You". Trust me when I say its amazing because I've heard the original by Justin Bieber only once but I constantly listen to this cover.
And that wraps up my favourites for the season. I hope you enjoyed reading this!
Ripped Denim Overalls
September 16, 2016 • fashion
Denim overalls have been a thing for a while now and something I'm just as much obsessed with as anybody else right now. I never thought about trying out their more trendy/ edgy ripped versions which are also in so many stores especially because I didn't know how much wear I would get out of them. I was pleasantly surprised with these ripped overalls from Romwe* which were very inexpensive compared to so many other ones I've spotted and I really liked that it was lightweight and not too thick which would make it very uncomfortable for hot summer days like this particular one.
I think it is a great starter piece to experiment with and see if this style is for me before I invest in more expensive ones. These are way more versatile than I thought they were going to be when it comes to styling in different ways. I decided to go the feminine look with a white, lacey, mock neck top tucked into it. I can imagine how great it would look with a cropped t-shirt and sneakers too. I also found a reason to sneakily bring out little bits of burgundy (although it's far too early) - the burgundy satchel and my favourite mock-croc block heels from New Look ( last year).
I liked the straight cut of these more than the mom jeans style and the fit was nice and makes for a little edgier outfit for days when I do want to dress up a little more and have an alternative to plain jeans. What's your favourite type of overall? Skinny, Ripped, Mom cut or Flares?

Hello! I’m coming to you with a little bit of a different post than my usual and I have a very good reason for that. Bastille
released their second studio album after THREE whole years yesterday. I've been listening to it non-stop for the entire day and I
thought I needed to talk about it. It has been such a long wait. If you ask me
the cheesy question – “Who are the top 5 bands you’d like to see live?”
Bastille will make that list of mine. I’ve been obsessed with them ever since I
heard their first album.
I discovered them on Tumblr in 2013 when their first album had just come out. People on tumblr have really good taste in music and I used to frequently browse for my indie music fix and always found some great recommendations that I listen to till this day. The first song I listened to was “Flaws” and I was in love. Then I went onto hearing one of their most popular songs “Pompeii” which was the one played on the radio loads and remixed with a lot of edm mixes. The song that made them "popular" all over the world.

Rewatching Gilmore Girls in 2016
September 6, 2016 • lifestyle
1. Tristan being the bad guy in the
first two seasons just caught me off guard now. I hated him before but it
was extremely difficult to hate him now that he has been glorified in my mind
as Lucas Scott (from One Tree Hill)
2. Stars Hollow is the cutest town ever. I loved
every little shop and landmarks in the town. The “Bluebell” from Hart of Dixie
( another one of my absolute favourites) shares the same set as Stars Hollow.
Hart of Dixie recently finished in 2014 and I could almost imagine Zoe Hart
popping up at the town square or on the streets. It was all so fresh in my
mind.
3.I love how ironic it is that
“Dean” from Gilmore Girls ended up playing the brother to one famous “Dean
Winchester” *Swoons* Also, Dean is my favourite from all of Rory’s
boyfriends. Update: I'm a leaning towards Jess now..anyone but Logan.
4.“I had the same pants in High
School. I’m in again” – Lorelai when she was visiting Harvard with Rory.
I wonder what Lorelai would say
if she saw everything in the shops since the last year or so. Mock neck tops,
chokers, choker neck tops, flared jeans, wrap dresses..Omg,It’s Lorelai
everything. She would freak out!
5.How many jobs does Kirk work? I
remember an episode where someone actually kept count of it but God knows how
many more he worked after that. That man is unstoppable.
6.The Friday Night Dinners were
possibly some of the funniest scenes, especially in the first three seasons. I loved
when they went to those and they always ended up in drama. I actually missed
Emily’s character when Lorelai would fight with them over periods of time.
Kelly Bishop is fantastic in it!
Bookmarks for Crappy Days #2
September 2, 2016 • advice, bookmarks for crappy days, lifestyle
Hello! I’m back with the second
edition of these “bookmarks” for some instant cheer me up, inspirational pages
on the web that I definitely look to when I’m feeling low or when I'm in a particularly
grumpy mood. If you're having a crappy day, this one's for you!
She is an
instagramer I found on accident one day as I was scrolling through some hashtags and it turns out she is the holy grail of
typography accounts. I am absolutely in love with her calligraphy pictures. They are bright, colourful and she always has a bunch of really inspiring “nerdy”
quotes(especially Harry Potter). If you like a lot of fandoms or simply are a
bookworm then you will love this account. I find her lettering videos so
calming and I can watch those back to back for so long without getting bored. However, if you’re more into girly, feminine
quotes and style then lhcalligraphy is an account worth following! Her account
is so darling.
If you already watch Caitlin’s
beauty and lifestyle videos on youtube, you may have seen this as it
is from March. She puts up artsy videos in between all her beauty content and I think they are really fantastic.
This is one of those videos which believe it or not is a sponsored video but I
think she did such a great job on this and it has 30,000 views on it which I
think is far too less for the effort that went into it. She deserves so much
more recognition as this video really inspired me to travel and also be
creative. I love watching it back.
What is possibly better than a
cup of tea when you’re feeling a little down to cheer you up? I practically
need tea or coffee on an IV on days like these. I like how they shared 3
different & interesting ways to make tea making it a little bit more fun to
experiment with some new flavours and they also seem to be very calming. Double
bonus! The blue mellow is something that I’m hoping to try next. Also, these
boys are a blast to watch. They are always so funny and cheery and I like
watching their videos even though I’m not the world's greatest cook and could barely attempt some of the recipes they share. I live for these easy, 5 minute recipes.
Here’s a link to this lovely graphic
design blogger’s free printable archive.
She has this series called Monday Motivation where she gives out a
free motivational printable every week on a monday. All you need to do is sign
up for the newsletter and you get a nice little printable in your email. It’s
such a nice treat for Monday mornings especially when the Monday feeling is
catching up with me. I usually print them out or use it as a wallpaper or phone
wallpaper and I just love the feeling of having one positive quote every week
in bright colours, fonts and designs. It’s also perfect for framing some for
your desk or bedroom.
#5 Quotes - Overheadla
Another instagram link you say? Trust me this one's way different than anything I've ever seen before. It's an account that takes anonymous submissions from people in LA of anything funny they've overhead and they share them like a quote. I know LA is one of the most glam cities in the world and I fantasize about it just as much as anyone else but it's so fun knowing a little bit more about the real people of LA, their lifestyle etc. Some of these quotes should make it to TV show scripts to be honest, they're hilarious. One scroll through their feeds and you'll find yourself in fits of laughter. I do, everytime!
